Emotional Learning – Can these shows really make a difference? There are numerous studies that show the impact music can make on learning. The fun concert-like atmosphere and familiar songs opens students up to the message and helps makes these topics more impactful and lasting. One Orchard Park principal noted that more than a month after the show, almost every student she asked remembered the main and key topics of Kevin’s program. She equated this to Kevin’s shows exhibiting “Emotional Learning”. She explained how the “fun atmosphere” of the show created a heightened emotion around which the show’s topic was much more apt to “stick” with the students as time goes on.
